SignalFire, a venture capital firm built around applied AI, has raised over $1 billion in fresh capital. This new injection brings the firm’s total assets under management (AUM) to approximately $3 billion. The funds will be deployed across its Seed, Early, Executive-in-Residence (XIR), and Opportunities funds. The raise was completed in a turbulent market environment, highlighting investor confidence in SignalFire’s approach and long-term commitment to AI innovation.
"Our investors see what we see — applied AI is the defining opportunity of our time. With this new capital, we’re doubling down on the next generation of category-defining AI startups tackling the world’s biggest challenges."
Chris Farmer, Founder & CEO of SignalFire
SignalFire has maintained a laser focus on applied AI since its founding in 2013. While many traditional venture firms are just beginning to integrate AI, SignalFire built its foundation around machine learning from day one. The firm has backed startups transforming sectors ranging from legal (EvenUp) to healthcare (Grow Therapy) and productivity (Grammarly).
"AI's next frontier isn't invention, it's implementation. With these funds, we’ll continue to back founders who transform theoretical AI technology into market-changing solutions."
Wayne Hu, Partner, SignalFire
A central pillar of SignalFire's strategy is Beacon AI, its proprietary machine learning platform. Built over more than a decade, Beacon leverages data from 650 million individuals and 80 million organizations to spot emerging talent, track trends, and help portfolio companies scale effectively. The platform also helps founders recruit, analyze markets, and build products faster with better data.
The firm continues to operate more like a tech company than a traditional VC, with a dedicated engineering team and CTO. Their AI-native approach positions them to move at startup speed and provide tools that reflect real-world founder challenges.
With this new capital, SignalFire plans to stay focused on founders from pre-seed to Series B. Its strategy includes writing early checks, sometimes before companies even launch, and guiding founders with operational expertise, customer introductions, and talent strategy.
"SignalFire has been the most helpful investor on our cap table, hands down. Their strategic guidance and hands-on support have been instrumental in helping us scale faster and smarter."
Rami Karabibar, Co-Founder of EvenUp
SignalFire aims to be more than a funder—it positions itself as a co-builder. Through its Beacon AI tools and advisory ecosystem, the firm assists startups with data science, go-to-market, and recruiting from day one.
Founded in 2013 by Chris Farmer, SignalFire was established on the belief that machine learning could meaningfully improve early-stage investing. That conviction has given it a 12-year head start as others now race to build AI capabilities.
The firm has invested in a wide range of high-profile startups, including Frame.io, Grammarly, Grow Therapy, EvenUp, Stampli, and Horizon3.ai. It continues to prioritize applied AI across critical sectors like healthcare, infrastructure, cybersecurity, consumer, and enterprise software.
SignalFire's differentiated model has attracted strong backing over the years, despite challenging market cycles. Its AI Lab program, early-stage investment thesis, and talent-centric focus make it a consistent first check for emerging founders.
"From customer intros and fundraising advice to hands-on support across data science, hiring, and scaling, SignalFire’s impact goes far beyond capital."
Jake Cooper, CEO & Co-Founder of Grow Therapy
Looking ahead, the firm plans to expand its AI tools, deepen sector-specific support, and continue sourcing talent and ideas even before company formation.
