Quibim, a leading healthtech company pioneering the use of imaging biomarkers for precision medicine, has announced the close of its $50 million Series A financing. The investment builds on the company’s remarkable growth: over the past year, Quibim saw a 168% quarter-on-quarter increase in the number of patients analyzed by its products, fueled by multiple regulatory approvals and global commercial partnerships.
The financing was led by Asabys (through its fund Sabadell Asabys II) and Buenavista Equity Partners (through the BHG I fund, created in partnership with Columbus Venture Partners), with participation from UI Investissements and GoHub Ventures as new investors. Current investors Amadeus Capital Partners, APEX Ventures, Partech, Adara Ventures, Leadwind (KFund’s early growth fund), Tony Fadell’s Build Collective, and individual investor Dr. Jonathan Milner also joined the round. (No valuation has been publicly disclosed.)
Quibim’s mission is to unlock a complete, non-invasive understanding of every tissue point in the human body, at any moment in time. By developing foundational AI models that analyze MRI, CT, and PET scans, the company offers insights that enable more accurate characterization of diseases and better predictions of patient outcomes in areas such as oncology, immunology, neurology, and metabolic disorders.
“Quibim’s mission is to turn imaging into a catalyst for precision health, and we are deeply grateful to both our new and current investors for their support. Our global expansion into the U.S. is a critical milestone as we work with pharmaceutical leaders and healthcare providers to unlock the power of imaging to revolutionize diagnostics and improve patient outcomes.”
Dr. Ángel Alberich-Bayarri, CEO and co-founder of Quibim
This effort is steering healthcare toward the creation of human digital twins—dynamic models reflecting a patient’s body that allow for improved monitoring, patient stratification, and drug development. By focusing on individual organs or lesions with tools like QP-Brain, QP-Prostate, and QP-Liver, Quibim aims to expand its technology to analyze full-body scans, pushing precision medicine forward and reducing the need for invasive tests.
Quibim will use the newly raised funds to accelerate its global commercial growth and deepen its product pipeline. One major focus is establishing a stronger U.S. presence, building on successes in Europe and leveraging the regulatory clearances the company has already secured in the US, EU, UK, and other markets. By forging new collaborations with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions, Quibim aims to process an unprecedented volume of whole-body imaging data.
Through this expansion, Quibim’s AI-powered imaging solutions will enhance clinical trials and speed up drug development by extracting precise, actionable imaging biomarkers.
This will potentially enable pharmaceutical companies to develop and test treatments more effectively, ultimately improving patient care.
Quibim is a healthtech company headquartered in Valencia, with offices in New York City, Cambridge (UK), Madrid, and Barcelona. It was co-founded by Dr. Ángel Alberich-Bayarri, who leads the team as CEO. The company’s vision is to connect imaging technologies with advanced computing and AI to drive a new era of personalized medicine.
With over 170 installations worldwide at prestigious sites like Mass General Brigham and Stanford, and existing partnerships with global leaders such as Philips (to integrate Quibim’s AI models into MR scanners), Merck KGaA, and Novartis, Quibim stands out for its regulatory-cleared Medical Devices that fit seamlessly into existing clinical workflows. By working with both healthcare providers and biopharmaceutical companies, Quibim aims to ensure that imaging becomes a critical source of data for diagnosing diseases and improving patient outcomes.
