SPARQ Diagnostics, created by SPARQ, a company looking to change how drivers connect with their cars, is launching an easy-to-use, AI-powered device that lets drivers talk directly with their vehicles.

SPARQ's goal is to make cars smarter and more proactive about their own maintenance, helping to modernize car servicing.

This innovative tool allows vehicle owners to identify and address potential maintenance issues well before they become serious problems.

Introducing SPARQ Diagnostics

SPARQ Diagnostics, SPARQ's main product, was recently introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This small device tracks 50,000 vehicle codes, providing more insights than any other consumer diagnostics tool out there. It gives each driver a personalized experience by taking into account their driving habits and vehicle details. The device connects to the driver's phone, offering real-time updates, a vehicle health score, and simple language explanations for potential maintenance needs.

Unlike traditional OBD II scanners, which can cost over $10,000, SPARQ Diagnostics delivers high-quality data without recurring fees that can exceed $1,000 over the course of vehicle ownership. The SPARQ AI interface allows drivers to have two-way conversations with their cars, helping them understand repair needs, fair service prices, and even questions related to insurance.

SPARQ Diagnostics costs $499 and comes with no subscription or recurring fees. To mark its launch, SPARQ is offering this device free of charge to attendees at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Revolutionizing car maintenance

According to Daniel Nieh, co-founder of SPARQ, car design has evolved over the years, but the way cars are maintained has not kept pace. He emphasized that SPARQ Diagnostics allows drivers to talk directly to their cars, removing the need for online searches or relying on mechanics who might overcharge for repairs.

Co-founders Daniel Nieh and Codrin Cobzaru were inspired to develop SPARQ Diagnostics after Cobzaru's girlfriend was repeatedly over-quoted for routine car repairs. Cobzaru mentioned that drivers often feel powerless at repair shops because they don't have enough information. With SPARQ, drivers can ask questions and get honest answers, making them feel more informed and confident before visiting the mechanic.

How SPARQ Diagnostics works

The SPARQ Diagnostics device plugs into the vehicle's OBD II port, while the companion SPARQ app (available for iOS) offers an easy-to-use experience. After answering a few questions, drivers gain instant insight into their vehicle's health through the app, and the conversational AI gives clear and simple explanations for any problems.

SPARQ also features a "time lapse" function that interprets insurance policy details and service records, so drivers can stay on top of car maintenance without the hassle of dealing with paperwork.
