BoomPop announced a $41 million funding round today to expand its AI-powered platform for corporate events and group travel. Wing VC led the investment, with participation from Atomic, Acme, Four Rivers, Thayer Investment Partners, the Fund of Operators Guild, and Gaingels. Individual investors include Alex Rodriguez, Brian O'Malley, Dane Glasgow, and Christopher Payne, among other Silicon Valley founders. The round includes $16 million in debt and credit from Silicon Valley Bank.
The San Francisco-based company is targeting the $1 trillion corporate group travel and events market with its recently launched AI-native event planning software. The platform handles everything from destination discovery and detailed itineraries to guest websites and 24/7 AI support via Slack or text. It serves both professional event planners and what the company calls "accidental planners"—employees tasked with organizing company gatherings without formal training.
The funding addresses a substantial pain point for companies. Meetings and events rank as the second or third largest expense on most corporate P&L statements, yet the planning process remains largely manual and fragmented.
"Many people don't realize meetings and events are a company's second- or third-biggest line item in the P&L. Especially in an AI-driven world, nothing replaces authentic human connection. BoomPop makes that simple. Our mission is to be the default way the world gets together."
Healey Cypher, Co-Founder and CEO of BoomPop
BoomPop's AI functions as a planning co-pilot. Users can input simple requests like organizing a 50-person founder summit within a two-hour drive of San Francisco. The system then analyzes millions of real-time data points including weather patterns, hotel and venue pricing, flight availability, city-wide events, and past itineraries to generate fully designed event options down to the minute.
Unlike generic planning tools, BoomPop's AI draws from a proprietary database of curated hotels, restaurants, venues, activities, facilitators, caterers, and creatives. The company's in-house event professionals continuously refine this database. When someone requests to "recreate last year's SF offsite, but this time in upstate New York," the system delivers fast, accurate results based on actual event data.
"Group travel is the last frontier of travel tech because it's exponentially more complex than booking for one person. Fifty people means fifty bookings, preferences and dietary restrictions, plus meeting spaces, activities, and countless variables. Our AI doesn't just manage the chaos, it turns it into clarity."
Blake Hudelson, BoomPop Co-Founder and CPO
Once the event vision is set, the AI manages execution by booking vetted vendors, reviewing contracts, building event websites, managing RSVPs, and coordinating with hotels to match individual guest preferences. Tasks that previously took weeks now happen in minutes.
BoomPop is strengthening its leadership with two senior hires. Craig Dooley joins as VP and General Manager of BoomPop Studio, the company's events agency division. He spent nearly seven years leading SDI, where he shaped corporate meetings and incentive travel experiences globally. At BoomPop, he'll combine human expertise with the company's AI platform to create meaningful in-person experiences.
Indrajit Bavan joins as VP of Partnerships, bringing more than two decades of travel tech experience. He held leadership roles at Expedia and Fareportal, following product and partnership positions at Microsoft and several startups. He'll build a global partner ecosystem spanning supply, channel, and feature partnerships to drive platform scalability.
The company has already powered over 60,000 hotel nights for clients including Google, Dick's Sporting Goods, Tesa, Bill.com, Forrester, and SVB. Its fastest-growing segment is company-hosted events like offsites, retreats, and client gatherings as organizations recognize that in-person connection drives culture, productivity, and revenue. According to Mastercard and Brex data, event and entertainment budgets often rank as the second-largest spend category after payroll for many companies with hybrid teams.
BoomPop launched with a focus on events and group travel in early 2023. The company is based primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and was founded by Healey Cypher and Blake Hudelson.
In late September, Brex announced a partnership allowing companies to book private dining and sports suites through BoomPop using Brex points.
Wing Venture Capital sees BoomPop as building essential infrastructure for the hybrid work era. The firm believes the combination of AI and proprietary data makes enterprise group events more scalable and easier to arrange.
"Post-pandemic, companies are investing more resources into bringing their employees together. But the process behind planning and executing these gatherings is still painfully manual. By fusing AI with proprietary data, BoomPop is making group enterprise events scalable and easier to arrange. We believe they are building the infrastructure layer for how organizations will connect and thrive in the hybrid-work era."
Gaurav Garg, Founding Partner at Wing Venture Capital
The new capital will accelerate BoomPop's expansion into the corporate events market and support continued development of its AI planning software.
