Starhive has raised $5 million in pre-Series A funding to expand its AI-powered IT asset and service management platform. The round was led by pan-European venture capital firm Ventech, with participation from existing investor node.vc. The investment arrives just seven months after Starhive’s $3 million seed round in September 2024, signaling strong investor confidence in the company's direction and technology.
Ventech partner Joel Uddén is joining Starhive’s board, bringing his experience as a two-time SaaS founder with successful exits.
The new capital will be used to scale Starhive’s AI capabilities and enhance its ability to streamline IT operations for businesses.
Many organizations still rely on outdated systems like spreadsheets to manage IT assets such as laptops, software licenses, and vendor contracts. These manual methods often lead to wasted resources, underutilized assets, and slower decision-making. Service management suffers from the same fragmented approach, making it difficult for IT teams to work proactively.
Starhive offers a more integrated solution, combining asset and service management with predictive AI.
It enables teams to simulate scenarios, forecast needs, and automate routine IT tasks, ultimately transitioning operations from reactive to predictive. This shift is designed to reduce waste, cut unnecessary costs, and improve resource planning.
The newly raised funds will go toward embedding more AI-driven features into Starhive’s platform, including conversational AI tools that let IT teams interact with large datasets in real-time. Users will be able to request automated alerts for license expirations, upcoming renewals, or asset underuse.
In parallel, the platform’s no-code app builder will remain a core feature, allowing users to create custom apps tailored to their workflows—from employee onboarding to change approval systems. Starhive plans to continue improving the flexibility and intelligence of its platform to meet the unique needs of enterprises across industries.
Founded in 2022 in Stockholm, Starhive was launched by Tommy Nordahl and Mathias Edblom, the co-founders of Mindville, a configuration management company acquired by Atlassian in 2020. The company has since grown to a team of 17, including nine former Mindville employees.
Starhive’s approach stands out by applying AI directly to asset management, an area often overlooked by competitors who focus primarily on service workflows. Its user-friendly tools aim to make IT management smarter, more efficient, and easier to adapt for each business.
"IT teams often rely on manual processes or rigid off-the-shelf software that fails to adapt to their specific needs, leading to inefficiencies and unnecessary costs. By integrating AI into asset and service management, Starhive provides a seamless, intelligent solution."

Ventech, which has backed companies such as Prewave, Vestiaire Collective, and Veo Technologies, sees a clear opportunity in Starhive’s AI-led approach.
"Starhive is addressing a significant gap in the IT management space by bringing AI to asset management, an area that has remained largely manual and inefficient. This investment is an opportunity to be part of the future of AI-driven enterprise efficiency."

The round also included participation from node.vc, which previously backed Starhive’s $3 million seed round. With this latest funding, the company has now raised $8 million in total to support its vision.
