SplxAI, a company specializing in offensive security for agentic AI systems, has raised $7 million in seed funding to expand its automated platform that protects both internal AI agents and customer-facing applications. The round was led by LAUNCHub Ventures, with participation from Rain Capital, Inovo, Runtime Ventures, DNV Ventures, and South Central Ventures.

As part of the investment, LAUNCHub General Partner Stan Sirakov is joining SplxAI’s Board of Directors, while Sandy Dunn, former CISO at Brand Engagement Network, joins the team as Chief Information Security Officer to lead the company’s governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives.

AI agents are growing fast—and so are the risks

As AI becomes embedded into enterprise workflows, the security stakes have increased. By 2028, around one-third of enterprise applications are expected to use agentic AI. But the shift from simple LLMs to complex agents introduces new attack surfaces that traditional tools weren’t built to handle.

“Deploying AI agents at scale introduces significant complexity, creating potential vulnerabilities that only in-depth, continuous testing can uncover. With the rapid advancement of LLMs, manual testing is not feasible.”

Kristian Kamber, CEO and Co-founder of SplxAI

SplxAI’s platform tackles this by automating red teaming and adversarial testing for LLMs and multimodal AI systems—including text, images, and voice. It simulates attacker behavior, detects prompt injections, hallucinations, and misbehavior, and flags weak or missing safeguards.

The new funding will speed things up

With this new investment, SplxAI plans to accelerate platform development, boosting real-time monitoring and dynamic remediation features. It also aims to grow its customer base and deepen integrations with enterprise environments.

Part of the funds will fuel SplxAI’s proprietary research engine, which powers its constantly updated attack database. This helps the platform stay on top of new threats and gives organizations tools to secure their AI at scale.

A team built for this mission

Founded in 2023, SplxAI was started by veterans from Zscaler and Cisco with deep expertise in red teaming and AI security. The team includes researchers who’ve won capture the flag competitions hosted by Wiz and Black Hat.

In 2024, the company launched Agentic Radar, an open-source tool that analyzes agentic workflows and flags components lacking proper security measures through static code analysis. Since launching its platform in August 2024, SplxAI reports 127% quarter-over-quarter growth, with customers including KPMG, Infobip, Brand Engagement Network, and Glean.

Investors see a growing need for AI protection

In addition to LAUNCHub Ventures, SplxAI’s seed round drew support from established investors across security and AI.

“Gen AI is disrupting everything including enterprise security. SplxAI is well-positioned to be a central player in the market. Organizations recognize the benefits of investing in Gen AI. However, the technology is still in its infancy. It's critical that we use rigorous, automated red teaming to ensure the security and reliability of these systems.”

Dr. Chenxi Wang, Managing General Partner at Rain Capital

Other participants include Inovo, Runtime Ventures, DNV Ventures, and South Central Ventures.
