Peer Global Inc., a company redefining gaming and social media with an AI-driven metaverse game engine, has raised $10.5 million in its latest funding round.
The investment, led solely by the Family Office of Tommy Mai, brings Peer’s total funding to $65.5 million—all from angel investors. Previous backers include prominent LA-based family offices, such as Dr. Hannah Vu, Dr. Paul Duong, Dr. Quan Nguyen, Dr. Trina Nguyen, Khanh Van Nguyen, and Jan Nguyen.
With this funding, Peer plans to accelerate hiring and enhance AI development, particularly as it launches Personal Planets, an immersive, AI-powered world designed to transform digital social interaction.
Built on Peer’s proprietary metaverse game engine, the platform connects multiple game experiences into a seamless, interactive network.
Traditional social media platforms rely on linear feeds designed to drive engagement through addictive scrolling. In contrast, Peer is introducing a persistent 3D world that blends the exploration mechanics of Pokémon GO with the creative, user-generated experiences of Roblox.
Founder Tony Tran was inspired to create Peer after witnessing the negative effects of social media addiction.
“This is the holy grail of gaming—metaverse games that are connected, where players can traverse worlds, bringing others, AIs, and assets with them. This is the first step toward a gamified, immersive internet, as envisioned in Ready Player One, but accessible from smartphones so everyone can participate.”

The latest funding will be allocated to several key areas:
Peer aims to push social connection beyond text, photos, and videos, offering users a dynamic, spatial network. Unlike traditional feeds, Peer’s AI-enhanced environments provide real-world contextual placement of digital content, making experiences more meaningful and interactive.
With today’s launch of Personal Planets, Peer introduces a 3D version of a social homepage. Users' planets act as dynamic digital spaces where social interactions occur in real time. Friends appear as avatars on these planets, interacting as they would in a multiplayer game.
Each planet is mapped to real-world coordinates, ensuring content placement mirrors where it was created. For example, a photo taken at the North Pole will appear on the user’s planet at the corresponding location. Users can also customize their digital environments by adding flora, fauna, landmarks, and other elements—similar to the personalization features of early social media profiles.
Brands and influencers can leverage Peer’s AI tools to create their own immersive worlds, advertise on the digital landscape, and integrate virtual assets like branded avatar clothing.
Peer’s unique approach to gaming and social media has attracted attention from notable angel investors, culminating in its $65.5 million total funding. Unlike many startups that seek venture capital, Peer has exclusively relied on private angel funding, allowing it to maintain its vision without external pressures.
"Websites, social networks, and digital brand experiences today are flat. People have short attention spans," said Peer investor. AI will push everything into spatial experiences, and Peer is leading the way. We're really excited about the potential for this technology and think Tony and team are the ones to get this right."
Tommy Mai, Investor
Peer’s app is available for download on iOS and Android, with additional tools for developers set to launch later this year.
"People are sick of scrolling endlessly. It's time for a better way to get online and experience a unified digital and physical world. Peer is pioneering a new kind of digital frontier where AI and 3D technology come together to deliver vast, immersive and interactive spaces. This isn’t just a platform—it’s a reinvention of how we connect, explore, and create, offering a transformative alternative to the status quo."
