LinqAlpha, a New York based startup, builds what it calls the Alpha Intelligence Layer for global public markets. The idea behind the company is that AI agents can do more than retrieve information for investment analysts. They can think alongside them, learning from a team's own research to help spot patterns and connections that would take humans far longer to piece together. LinqAlpha was founded by Jacob Choi, Subeen Pang, Jin Kim, and Hojun Choi, a team that combines former Goldman Sachs analysts with MIT computer science PhDs.

Public markets have gotten harder to follow. There is simply more happening, and it all moves faster. A factory disruption in Asia, a policy shift in Europe, and an earnings call in the United States can all feed into the same investment thesis within hours. Research from Boston Consulting Group shows that asset managers are increasingly turning to agentic AI systems to keep up, with such tools able to lift operational capacity by 55% to 65%. For investment teams today, the difficulty is not finding information. It is making sense of too much of it before the rest of the market does.

LinqAlpha announced that it has raised $22 million in Series A funding. The round was anchored by AVP, Atinum Investment, and GFT Ventures, with additional participation from a global syndicate of strategic financial institutions and venture platforms.

Why Investment Research Teams Are Under Growing Pressure

The volume of data that research teams have to process has grown considerably. Analysts now need to weigh signals from equities, credit, macro data, and alternative datasets at the same time. Doing that by hand has become close to impossible for any single person or team. Traditional research workflows were built around manual reading and static reports. They were not designed for this pace.

AI tools have started to change that. LinqAlpha argues that the more meaningful shift is toward systems that can reason over an investor's own research history and flag what matters before it becomes consensus, rather than simply summarizing documents on request.

"Most AI tools in finance help professionals retrieve information faster or automate repetitive work. LinqAlpha is addressing a larger opportunity: building systems that help institutional investors discover differentiated insights in public markets that reward speed, context, and proprietary judgment."

How LinqAlpha Plans to Spend the $22 Million

The new capital will go toward expanding LinqAlpha's global team, which is headquartered in New York, and deepening its integrations across market and alternative datasets. The company also plans to speed up the rollout of its multi-agent platform across equities, macro, credit, and multi-asset strategies.

LinqAlpha already serves more than 70 financial institutions across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Its clients range from sell-side sales, trading, and research desks at major investment banks to buy-side firms such as Causeway Capital Management LLC and Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC. Together, its buy-side clients manage more than $5 trillion in assets.

"The first wave of AI in finance made analysts faster. The next wave changes what they can know. The edge no longer comes from retrieving information; it comes from systems that surface market-moving signals before they are priced in."

What LinqAlpha's AI Agents Actually Do

LinqAlpha was founded in 2022. The company set out to change how institutional investors conduct fundamental research, which is the detailed, hands on analysis of a company's financials, competitive position, and outlook. Its platform lets each investment team deploy specialized AI agents trained on that team's own research history, investment framework, and feedback over time.

What this means in practice is that an analyst's past reports, notes, and market views become part of what the AI agents draw on. So the output reflects that specific team's way of thinking, not a generic answer that any user would get. The company describes this as giving each client a kind of second brain, built from its own accumulated research rather than a shared model.

"In effect, LinqAlpha builds a second brain for every investment team: one that turns accumulated research into actionable insight across liquid public markets. Instead of a generic model's average answer, each team gets agents that reason in the context of its own thesis history and evolve with its feedback and market view."

Who Invested in LinqAlpha's Series A

LinqAlpha's Series A was anchored by AVP, Atinum Investment, and GFT Ventures. The round was oversubscribed, drawing a wide bench of strategic financial institutions and venture platforms from Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Hong Kong.

The syndicate includes SBI Investment and Z Venture Capital from Japan; Betatron Venture Group, East Ventures, and SV Investment from Southeast Asia and Hong Kong; and Samsung Securities, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, Mirae Asset Capital, NH Investment & Securities, Shinhan Venture Investment, and Hana Ventures from South Korea. That geographic spread suggests growing interest in AI tools for finance among institutions across several major financial centers.

LinqAlpha had previously raised $6.6 million in funding, according to the company's website.
