Gomboc AI has secured a total of $13 million in seed-stage funding, anchored by a fresh $8 million round led by Ballistic Ventures. Glilot Capital Partners and Hetz Ventures, which co-led the company’s initial $5 million seed investment, also participated in the new round.

This infusion of capital aims to accelerate Gomboc AI’s efforts to streamline cloud security workflows. Although traditional solutions often alert teams to misconfigurations, they rarely resolve the underlying issues, leaving security backlogs to pile up.

Gomboc AI tackles the problem by delivering immediate, code-level fixes—ultimately helping businesses reduce delays and boost transformation initiatives.

Addressing a major security bottleneck

Gomboc AI operates in a field where many security products rely on signatures, templates, or generative AI. According to Co-founder and CEO Ian Amit, those approaches often generate more alerts than actual solutions.

"I started asking: What if there was no backlog, no more tickets? What if the inefficiencies we've normalized didn't have to exist? The security industry is drowning in alerts, and no solution has fundamentally solved the root problem of remediating issues with minimal friction"

How the funding will power faster fixes

With this additional backing, Gomboc AI intends to expand its deterministic AI platform, pushing capabilities for automated cloud security remediation.

The objective is to bring the time it takes to fix vulnerabilities from weeks or months down to mere minutes.

Funds will also be channeled toward bolstering product development and exploring new market segments. By enhancing integration pathways within existing DevOps pipelines, Gomboc AI seeks to make policy-driven remediations intuitive and hassle-free for security teams and developers alike.

"The cybersecurity market is at an inflection point—threats are evolving faster than companies can hire and train security engineers. Gomboc AI is uniquely positioned to solve this bottleneck with AI-driven remediation, turning security from a constant fire drill into a seamless, automated process. This funding reflects their rapid progress, strong market traction, and an outstanding team. We're excited to double down."

From overwhelmed CISO to AI innovator

The platform’s roots trace back to Ian Amit’s experience as a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), juggling the security needs of 15 businesses under a single corporate structure. Overwhelmed by perpetual vulnerability reports, he partnered with Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Matthew Sweeney to develop a solution that does more than just flag issues—it fixes them at the code level.

Gomboc AI’s deterministic AI is distinct from generative AI tools, as it focuses on consistent, policy-driven outcomes. This engine seamlessly integrates with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, ensuring fixes preserve crucial functionality while maintaining agility.

Founded in 2022, Gomboc AI has since positioned itself as a go-to resource for organizations seeking tangible improvements in cloud security without adding to developers’ workloads.

"Gomboc AI is solving a massive, universal problem that organizations face: transforming the overwhelming security-ticket backlog into an automated, policy-driven remediation process. This company is a game-changer for how security and DevSecOps teams can work together more efficiently and effectively,"
