Granola, known for its AI-driven meeting assistant, has secured $43 million in Series B funding led by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross from NFDG. The funding round also saw continued participation from existing investors Mike Mignano from Lightspeed Venture Partners and Nabeel Hyatt from Spark Capital. An impressive group of angel investors joined as well, including Guillermo Rauch (Vercel), Amjad Masad (Replit), Tobi Lutke (Shopify), Karri Saarinen (Linear), Lenny Rachitsky (Lenny's Newsletter), and others.
With this round, Granola continues to expand rapidly, building upon a $4.25 million seed round and a $20 million Series A round completed last year.
Granola has evolved from an intelligent notepad into a comprehensive AI workspace tailored for teams. Recognizing that valuable company insights live within everyday conversations, Granola 2.0 enables organizations to capture, share, and utilize this collective knowledge effortlessly.
"Since our launch a year ago, people have started referring to Granola as their 'second brain'. With Granola 2.0, we're bringing that power to your entire team, tapping into the most up-to-date, relevant data on what's happening in your company – the conversations your employees are having day in, day out."
Christopher Pedregal, Co-Founder of Granola
The new funds will primarily go toward expanding Granola's product development team based in London. Granola aims to accelerate the innovation of their workspace solution, making it easier for businesses to integrate AI-driven collaboration tools into their daily workflow.
"Harnessing shared meeting context with AI will be a core tool of how effective teams work in the future," said Pedregal. Granola’s near-term goals include enhancing capabilities for Sales, Customer Success, and Recruitment teams by offering instant, query-based insights directly from meeting transcriptions.
Founded in March 2023 by Christopher Pedregal and Sam Stephenson, Granola initially emerged as a smart notepad combining typed notes with AI-generated transcriptions. Its ability to aggregate millions of conversation minutes daily has quickly made it indispensable for knowledge management across various teams.
The latest version introduces Shared Team Folders, conversational querying of meeting notes, enterprise collaboration features, and Slack integrations to facilitate seamless team communication. These innovations set Granola apart by turning scattered conversations into actionable insights.
"With every call in one place, sales leaders can ask 'Why are we losing deals this quarter?,' product managers can investigate 'Which UX issues come up most often?,' and recruiters can understand 'Where do our interviews keep stalling?' — all answered instantly with source-linked citations."
Sam Stephenson, Co-Founder of Granola
Granola's growth has been supported by prominent investors like Lightspeed Venture Partners, Spark Capital, betaworks, Firstminute Capital, and AI Grant. The latest Series B investment underlines significant market confidence in Granola’s approach to AI-driven team collaboration.
