Etiq AI, a London-based startup focused on post-training machine learning (ML) robustness, has raised €900,000 in seed funding. The round was led by GapMinder VC and follows a previous £1 million grant from InnovateUK. The funds will help scale Etiq’s newly launched platform, "Data Science Copilot," which targets faster, smarter debugging for ML models.

This investment comes at a time when the global data science platform market is projected to reach over $320 billion by 2026. As demand rises for tools that improve developer efficiency, Etiq is positioning itself within a growing AI tooling space—but with a unique focus on debugging, fairness, and reliability after model training.

Tackling the complex challenges of ML pipelines

Data science and ML teams often face slow and error-prone debugging processes. Etiq AI addresses this challenge with its Data Science Copilot, launched in March 2025. The platform dramatically reduces the time required to debug and validate ML pipelines—from weeks to minutes.

By mapping the logical flow of code, recommending relevant tests, and using RCA agents (Root Cause Analysis) to identify and suggest fixes for errors, Etiq enables data scientists to work more efficiently. It also offers a 30-day free trial, encouraging adoption among organizations eager to improve the performance and fairness of their ML systems.

Fueling product growth and commercial expansion

With the new funding, Etiq plans to develop additional automation capabilities in testing and debugging, and expand its support for large language models (LLMs). The company also aims to grow its team and scale its commercial presence throughout 2025.

"We’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of our latest funding round and to officially welcome GapMinder VC on board as a key partner in our journey. This milestone marks a significant step forward for our team and product, and we’re incredibly excited about the road ahead."

From ML expertise to a new industry standard

Etiq was founded by Iris Anson and Raluca Crisan, who serve as CEO and CTO respectively. Both bring deep experience in ML testing and AI infrastructure, and have spent years identifying the friction points in building and productionizing ML pipelines.

Their solution—Data Science Copilot—is the result of extensive work understanding real-world data science bottlenecks. The platform’s focus on post-training testing and bias detection makes it stand out in a market increasingly looking for scalable and responsible AI tools.

Backed by GapMinder and InnovateUK

GapMinder VC led the current round, adding to Etiq’s early support from InnovateUK, which provided a £1 million grant.

"We’re incredibly excited to back the team at Etiq as they build a foundational layer for responsible and scalable AI. With the surge in AI agent usage and machine learning-driven applications, there’s an urgent need for robust tools that help developers monitor, debug, and improve model behavior in real time. Etiq’s technology does exactly that—empowering teams to surface hidden biases, identify edge cases, and continuously improve ML performance.” - Robert Herscovici, Investment Director at GapMinder"
