Axelera AI has secured up to €61.6 million in funding from the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (JU) and participating member states.
This funding supports the development of Titania™, a high-performance, scalable AI inference chiplet leveraging Digital In-Memory Computing (D-IMC) technology.
The investment aligns with the Digital Autonomy with RISC-V for Europe (DARE) Project, aimed at strengthening Europe's supercomputing capabilities. This follows Axelera AI’s recent $68 million Series B round, bringing its total funding to over $200 million in just three years.
As a key player in the DARE consortium, Axelera AI contributes to EuroHPC JU’s mission of developing a world-class European supercomputing ecosystem. DARE fosters innovation in European processors and accelerators for high-performance computing (HPC), emerging AI applications, and extreme-scale workloads.

The AI industry is expanding at a 28%+ CAGR, with a growing demand for more efficient inference processing. As AI models evolve, requiring greater computational power, solutions like Titania will play a crucial role in supporting next-generation AI applications and zetta-scale HPC centers.
Axelera AI plans to use the newly acquired funds to expand its R&D teams in the Netherlands, Italy, and Belgium. With a focus on delivering high-throughput and energy-efficient solutions, the company aims to drive the adoption of AI across industries while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Titania’s chiplet-based architecture integrates D-IMC technology and RISC-V capabilities to address the increasing demand for scalable AI solutions across HPC, enterprise data centers, robotics, and automotive sectors.
By enabling near-linear scalability without excessive power consumption, the technology bridges the gap between edge and cloud AI deployment.
