CES 2025 wasn’t just a stage for established tech giants; it also welcomed a vibrant mix of innovative startups and small businesses.

Supported by the European Innovation Council (EIC), 15 promising SMEs, startups, and scaleups from Europe attended the event. Thanks to the EIC's support, these startups had access to valuable resources that enabled them to present their innovations to a global audience, meaning that consumers were able to see the latest breakthroughs and unique products designed to meet their needs.

Whether it was new IoT devices, digital health solutions, or innovative robotics, these startups introduced technologies that made life easier, more connected, and more enjoyable.

Before showcasing their innovations at CES, the selected companies participated in the CES Unveiled Amsterdam event on October 15, 2024—a pre-event that helped them refine their products and strategies to ensure that their presentations were truly groundbreaking. Moreover, these companies took part in CES activities from January 6 through January 10, 2025, reinforcing their commitment to excellence and innovation on one of the world’s most prestigious technology stages.

Building on Success: EIC’s Continued Commitment to CES

For the fourth consecutive year, the European Innovation Council (EIC) sent a delegation to CES, the globe’s premier technology exhibition. CES 2024 set a new benchmark with a record-breaking attendance of 135,000 visitors and over 4,300 exhibitors representing 150 countries.

The EIC’s ongoing involvement underscored its commitment to fostering European innovation on the global stage, enabling startups, SMEs, and scaleups to gain international exposure and forge valuable partnerships.

Meet the EIC Awardees for CES 2025

Among the selected awardees, many were dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) and invested in AI-driven technologies. This emphasis highlighted the growing importance of AI in driving innovation across various industries. From enhancing smart home devices to revolutionizing healthcare and manufacturing, these AI-focused companies were at the forefront of technological advancement, showcasing the transformative power of AI at CES 2025.

The 15 EIC awardees selected to represent Europe at CES 2025 were:

Axelera AI (The Netherlands)

Axelera AI delivers some of the most advanced and powerful solutions for AI at the Edge. The Metis™ AI platform, a fully integrated hardware and software solution, sets a new standard for AI inference at the edge, boosting the accessibility, potency, and ease of use of computer vision applications.

At CES 2025 they showcased the Metis™ AI platform, illustrating how its hardware-software integration redefined AI inference for computer vision applications. During the event, the technology was demonstrated in biomedical image segmentation for tumor detection, highlighting improvements in both accuracy and efficiency for healthcare tasks.

Check Point Care LTD. (Bulgaria)

Check Point Care LTD. revitalizes the healthcare landscape by merging AI-powered telemedicine with cutting-edge wearables. This unified platform supports ongoing, personalized monitoring from the hospital to the home, meeting the critical need for early detection and prevention and ensuring better patient outcomes.

At CES they unveiled its advanced solution, which integrated wearable technology, AI-driven analytics, and a 24/7 Virtual Care Center for continuous, real-time patient monitoring. By leveraging over 19 vital signs and incorporating Digital Twin technology, the platform served as an early detection and prevention decision support tool, significantly reducing hospital admissions, decreasing lengths of stay, and improving patient outcomes overall.

Is CLEAN AIR Italia S.r.l. (Italy)

Is CLEAN AIR Italia S.r.l. addresses the global challenge of air pollution—which causes over 8 million premature deaths annually—by providing a patented, filterless water-based technology capable of simultaneously managing CO2, particles, chemicals, and gases. This cost-effective and energy-saving cleantech not only delivers healthier and safer ambient air across various spaces but also contributes to climate change mitigation and the generation of carbon credits.

The company showcased its Air Pollution Abatement (APA) solutions, which used water and mechanical processes to achieve more than 99% air pollution reduction—without the expense of traditional filters. The demonstration highlighted the system’s ability to eliminate a wide range of particles, gases, and chemicals (including ammonia, CO2, and nanoparticles smaller than viruses) while also reducing energy costs by up to 40–45% in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Dotlumen (Romania)

Dotlumen (.Lumen) transforms mobility with Pedestrian Autonomous Driving AI (PAD AI), first deployed in smart glasses designed for individuals with vision impairment. The technology promotes improved safety and freedom of movement, pioneering the future of autonomous navigation for those with limited or no sight.

AT CES 2025 they presented its smart glasses that emulated a guide dog’s functions through patented haptics, gently “pulling” the user’s head around obstacles and maintaining proper positioning on sidewalks or at crossings. Built on the Pedestrian Autonomous Driving AI system, the demonstration showcased the first “self-driving” navigation stack explicitly tailored for pedestrians. Plans were also revealed for humanoid robot integration, aimed at addressing a parcel delivery market worth USD 62 billion.

Elliptic Laboratories AS (Norway)

Elliptic Laboratories AS elevates devices with contextual intelligence through its AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform™, which applies proprietary deep neural networks to create AI-powered Virtual Smart Sensors. These sensors optimize personalization, privacy, and productivity, featuring in over 500 million devices across various systems, platforms, and applications.

Elliptic Labs showcased the AI Virtual Smart Sensor Platform, a software-only solution enabling next-generation user experiences such as proximity and human presence detection, as well as seamless device-to-device interoperability. One highlight at the event was the AI Virtual Tap Sensor, which allowed users to transfer files from smartphones to Windows laptops with just a tap, setting a new standard for cross-device integration.

EZMEMS LTD. (Israel)

EZMEMS LTD. develops advanced multisensor platforms for real-time water monitoring. They combine flow, pressure, temperature, conductivity, turbidity, and pH sensing in a single, compact, and efficient device, delivering an easy-to-use solution for critical water applications.

EZMEMS showcased its Edge Multi Sensing technology, a revolutionary platform that integrated multiple sensing functionalities—including flow, pH, conductivity, turbidity, and pressure—into one compact solution. They demonstrated how this inline multisensor reduced cost, complexity, and footprint while delivering real-time, high-accuracy data, ensuring early detection of quality changes and precise system optimization.

Ignion SL (Spain)

Ignion SL leverages its Virtual Antenna® technology, which has powered over 50 million devices, to deliver compact, ready-to-use solutions that integrate seamlessly into any IoT device. They demystify antenna integration with Oxion™, their revolutionary AI-powered platform that enables users to complete designs in seconds, thereby accelerating innovation by simplifying wireless integration.

IGNION presented a suite of products at CES 2025 that collectively covered all IoT wireless standards from 400 MHz to 10,600 MHz. They demonstrated tiny chip antennas that delivered powerful, multi-band connectivity without compromise and showcased NANO mXTEND™—the smallest Virtual Antenna® ever—as well as RUN mXTEND™ for more complex RF designs involving Cellular, TRIO, and OMNIA mXTEND™, all enhanced by their easy-to-use, AI-powered Oxion™ platform.

1oT (Estonia)

1oT is a global IoT connectivity service provider that aggregates telecom services into a single eSIM offering. They support 190 countries and over 600 networks with one SIM, and their in-house built Connectivity Management Platform, 1oT Terminal, effectively simplifies the complexity of IoT connectivity.

1oT showcased its IoT Connectivity eSIM, which enabled the connection of fleets of IoT devices worldwide using a single Stock-Keeping Unit (SKU) and one unified platform or API. They demonstrated how the eSIM eliminated telecom lock-in by allowing users to change telecom profiles on the go via 1oT Terminal SIM management software. Additionally, they highlighted the 1oT Terminal platform and 1oT eSIM Core—comprehensive solutions for telecoms and enterprises, facilitating access to multiple networks and streamlining remote SIM provisioning.

Multiverse Computing SL (Spain)

Multiverse Computing is the leading quantum AI software company that applies both quantum and quantum-inspired AI techniques to tackle complex challenges across sectors such as finance, energy, manufacturing, defense, cybersecurity, life sciences, and chemistry. They deliver practical applications and tangible value today by leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve some of the most intricate problems in these industries.

At CES 2025, Multiverse Computing showcased a breakthrough solution that revolutionizes the deployment of AI by compressing fundamental AI models—including large language models (LLMs)—through advanced tensor network techniques. This approach enables LLMs and other complex AI systems to be effectively deployed in resource-constrained environments, such as on the edge or mobile platforms, without requiring internet connectivity. The solution significantly reduces the hardware footprint and memory consumption, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and privacy in critical applications.

Nanopower Semiconductors AS (Norway)

Nanopower Semiconductors addresses the challenge of high power consumption in IoT devices by developing an ultra-low-power integrated circuit (IC). They focus on significantly reducing energy consumption, which in turn extends device longevity, lowers maintenance costs, and contributes to a more sustainable future by mitigating environmental impacts.

They demonstrated its ultra-low-power IC at CES 2025, showcasing how the technology reduced the power consumption of wireless devices. They highlighted benefits such as fewer discarded batteries, lower battery replacement costs, a smaller component size, increased system responsiveness, and enhanced opportunities for energy harvesting—all contributing to more sustainable and efficient IoT solutions.

Picterus AS (Norway)

Picterus is revolutionizing neonatal jaundice care with a universally accessible and accurate screening solution, ensuring a healthy start for every child regardless of location. They have developed Picterus® Jaundice Pro, a device approved for clinical use by both healthcare professionals and caregivers, which enables quick and reliable newborn screening at home, in hospitals, or in any setting.

Picterus demonstrated Picterus® Jaundice Pro at CES 2025, showcasing its ability to empower midwives, doctors, and caregivers to screen newborns for jaundice in any environment. The solution underscored its clinical approval and versatility, providing fast, accurate screening wherever it is needed.

Qarnot Computing (France)

Qarnot Computing offers a unique approach to high-performance cloud computing by controlling the entire value chain from infrastructure design to the delivery of sustainable HPC services. They deploy HPC clusters in locations where the heat generated by servers is not wasted, but rather directly reused, turning energy into a valuable asset.

Qarnot showcased its QBx heat reuse computing rack at CES 2025, which integrates HPC servers cooled by inlet water and recycles exhaust heat at up to 65°C (150°F). Their demonstration highlighted how the IT infrastructure is installed onsite—where heat is beneficial year-round—directly integrating into the hydraulic systems of local energy partners, offering an unmatched price-to-performance ratio in sustainable cloud HPC.

Quandela (France)

Quandela designs, builds, and delivers datacentre-ready and cloud-accessible quantum computers along with algorithm access services that hold significant industrial value. They make advanced quantum computing accessible to innovators who need to address the most pressing challenges by simplifying quantum technology integration.

At CES 2025, Quandela presented its Quantum Acceleration Program, which helps organizations achieve quantum transformation through training, use case identification, co-development of algorithms, proofs of concept, and scalability studies. They also highlighted Quandela Cloud—a comprehensive platform for discovering, testing, and developing quantum solutions—and showcased MosaiQ, the first datacenter-ready quantum computer designed to tackle the most complex computing challenges.

SettleMint (Belgium)

SettleMint is a Blockchain Transformation Company that connects people, processes, and technology to accelerate value creation with blockchain. They empower organizations to easily build and integrate blockchain applications, while equipping teams with the skills, methodologies, and support needed for successful implementation. The company showcased its innovative SettleMint Platform at CES 2025, demonstrating how it streamlines blockchain application development and integration.

Vay (Germany)

Vay develops automotive-grade technology for remote driving, enabling a seamless door-to-door mobility experience. They offer a service where users can request an electric vehicle through the Vay app, have it remotely delivered to their location, drive it as a regular car, and then allow a remote driver to take over when the trip ends—thereby eliminating the hassle of finding parking and significantly reducing costs compared to traditional ride-hailing services. At CES 2025, Vay exhibited its remote driving technology and services for both B2C and B2B applications.

Comprehensive preparation for CES 2025

A first pre-departure workshop was conducted on September 26th, bringing together the 15 EIC companies, high-level EIC representatives, and market experts. This interactive online session provided detailed insights into trade fair opportunities, explained the approach to onsite matchmaking services, and ensured that the selected companies are thoroughly prepared for their participation.

On their journey to CES 2025, the EIC awardees also took part in CES Unveiled in Amsterdam. This event provided a valuable opportunity to network with other startups, industry leaders, investors, and media representatives, ensuring that the delegation is well-prepared for the main event in Las Vegas.

Additionally, the European Innovation Council sponsored a pitch battle during CES Unveiled Amsterdam, allowing the delegation to showcase the best of European technology and gain significant exposure.
