Actively AI has secured $17.5 million in Series A funding to accelerate development of its proprietary reasoning engine for revenue teams. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with continued participation from First Round Capital, which had previously led Actively's $5 million seed round.

Notable angel investors also joined the round, including Jason Boehmig (Ironclad), Ali Rowghani (formerly Y Combinator and Twitter), and Frederic Kerrest (Okta).

With this round, the New York-based startup has raised a total of $22.5 million to date. The company did not disclose its valuation.

Why sales teams are turning to AI

Actively AI is betting that the next frontier for AI isn’t just automation—it’s decision-making. As sales teams face growing pressure to deliver results amid high attrition and digital noise, Actively’s model offers an alternative to generic email cadences and surface-level personalization.

“Actively provides us with a foundational GTM AI layer across our revenue organization. Its impact on pipeline coverage and revenue generation makes it one of the highest-ROI platforms in our tech stack.”

Michael Manne, VP of Sales, Ramp

Research shows top sellers spend significant time researching prospects, yet reps still struggle to hit targets because only a fraction of their time is spent actually selling. Actively aims to shift that balance by reasoning through data to prioritize high-impact actions.

From surface-level AI to real-time sales strategy

Actively's platform trains a custom AI model for each company using its historical data, sales motion, and product context. Unlike many so-called AI sales tools, Actively doesn’t just summarize notes or write emails—it develops hypotheses on when and how to engage prospects and recommends next steps across the entire revenue org.

Its always-on learning engine continuously refines insights and actions to help reps at every level—from SDRs to AMs—focus on what’s most likely to convert.

Ramp now trains every new sales rep on Actively. Ironclad has seen a 41% higher conversion rate on Actively-suggested leads.

Tailoring AI to business needs

Using a single AI model for all tasks is inefficient. Machine learning models are most effective when tailored to specific business functions. For instance, customer support automation requires entirely different AI models compared to personalized marketing or sales predictions.

Companies recognizing this difference gain real competitive benefits, while those opting for generic solutions often face disappointing results.

Funding to grow platform and team

With the new capital, Actively plans to strengthen its core reasoning engine and expand its use across the broader go-to-market (GTM) stack. The company also plans to grow its team and support new use cases across marketing, revenue operations, and customer success.

“In two years, every winning revenue org will be powered by advanced AI that outperforms human-led decisions, unlocking significant gains in pipeline and revenue. We call it ‘GTM Superintelligence’—a reasoning-driven approach that doesn’t just automate or assist, but actively makes the best possible decisions to drive growth. That’s what we are building.”

Mihir Garimella, Co-founder and CEO, Actively AI

The goal is to make GTM Superintelligence—the company’s term for its decision-making AI—available across all revenue functions, enabling coordinated execution and measurable results.

AI roots and sales tech ambition

Actively was founded by Mihir Garimella and Anshul Gupta, two Stanford-trained AI researchers with experience from Google, Waymo, Scale AI, Microsoft, and more. The startup’s founding team also includes alumni from Carnegie Mellon and Harvard with deep AI research backgrounds.

“Unlike other sales tools that promise AI capabilities but offer only incremental insights, Actively’s platform replicates how best-in-class SDRs and AEs thoroughly analyze an account, freeing users to spend more time engaging qualified prospects. We’re excited to invest in Mihir, Anshul, and the team because they are delivering results that set them apart in the sales tech category.”

Ajay Agarwal, Partner, Bain Capital Ventures

Today, Actively serves customers like Ramp, Ironclad, Justworks, Verkada, Attentive, and Dialpad—each of which has credited the platform for helping generate millions in revenue.

Investors

Actively’s cap table now includes Bain Capital Ventures, First Round Capital, and a roster of highly regarded operators who have scaled some of the biggest names in SaaS and enterprise software. These investors bring more than just capital—they offer strategic guidance drawn from building category-defining companies.

With $22.5 million raised across its seed and Series A rounds, Actively is now positioned to deepen its technology and scale operations with backing from a powerful mix of institutional capital and operational expertise.

The $17.5 million raised in this Series A round accounts for the bulk of the total and reflects investor confidence in both the company’s vision and early traction.

Among the individual backers are Jason Boehmig, co-founder and CEO of Ironclad, who brings first-hand experience scaling enterprise sales in the legal tech space; Ali Rowghani, former COO of Twitter and managing partner at Y Combinator, known for helping startups grow into global businesses; and Frederic Kerrest, co-founder and vice chairman of Okta, who adds deep insight into go-to-market motion
