IceMOS Technology, a semiconductor manufacturer based in Paradise Valley, Arizona, has raised $22 million in a Series E funding round. The investment was led by London-based firm 57 Stars LLC, with participation from existing U.S. investors. The round values IceMOS at a post-money valuation of $110 million.

The new capital will help scale the company’s manufacturing capabilities in Northern Ireland and bolster its global sales and engineering efforts ahead of the commercial launch of its proprietary mSJMOS™ platform, a next-generation silicon-based power semiconductor.

Challenging wideband gap dominance with silicon innovation

The mSJMOS™ technology, protected by over 70 patents, blends silicon MEMS manufacturing techniques with traditional CMOS super-junction power MOSFET structures.

The result is a new class of silicon-based devices that offer competitive performance at voltage levels ranging from 650V to 1200V—areas historically dominated by wideband gap materials.

The company is targeting sectors like AI, IoT, big data, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and aerospace, where efficiency and sustainability are key.

“Our sensing and power technologies are paving the way for more energy-efficient and CO2-saving solutions that support decarbonization. Products based on this advanced technology represents a new class of semiconductors, essential to serve the efficiency demands of the massively complex market segments like artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), big data, renewables wind and solar, electric vehicles and aerospace applications. The merging of mSJMOSTM structures and MEMS manufacturing techniques presents a revolutionary silicon-based technology that can compete with wideband gap devices at 650 Volts, 750Volts, 900Volts, and 1200Volts.”

Global workforce growth and new leadership on deck

The Series E funding will support hiring plans that aim to grow IceMOS' workforce to over 100 employees globally. This includes strengthening its footprint in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where it operates a key manufacturing center.

The company also announced the appointment of Niall Lyne as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Global Sales. Lyne brings decades of industry experience from roles at Analog Devices, Intersil, and Renesas Electronics. He will lead operational strategy and revenue growth initiatives as IceMOS prepares for its next phase.

"IceMOS’ new architecture for silicon semiconductors represents break-through technology for power management systems in high-growth sectors such as electric vehicles and data centers. The hiring of industry veteran Niall Lyne both validates the strength and potential of its innovative products and enhances the management team to start scaling the business."
