Vermillio was co-founded by Dan Neely, who recently appeared on TIME’s list of the 100 most influential individuals in AI. His team has spent over a decade refining AI software and transactional systems.
Established to set up the “guardrails” for a generative AI-driven internet, Vermillio tackles industry concerns like IP theft, lack of proper attribution, and unregulated usage of personal data.
Vermillio’s collaborations illustrate how its technology can enhance fan engagement and creator control. A notable partnership with talent agency WME helped shield high-profile clients from IP theft while creating secure licensing opportunities for names, images, and likenesses. Vermillio also teamed up with Sony Pictures on a Spider-Verse AI engine that allowed fans to generate personalized digital avatars—each traced back to the filmmakers’ source material through TraceID™.
Additionally, in tandem with Sony Music and Legacy Recordings, Vermillio partnered with The Orb and David Gilmour for an AI-driven album “remix” project where fans contributed original artwork. These initiatives underscore the platform’s potential for preserving consent, credit, and compensation across various creative domains. Vermillio’s executive team has provided key insights to global AI discussions, including support for legislative efforts like the NO FAKES Act.
